I'm going to use LiveJournal again. My new username is khaubrich. I won't delete this one for a little while. I'll make it public. I doubt anyone still reads this anymore, with the revolution of MySpace, but if anyone does, thats fine. It'll be sort of a "public-private" journal.

edit - and ive completely destroyed my layout and used a default lj one because...i just dont have the energy to change the layout on a lj i no longer use. i think now its here just for reference. 6/25/06

New/Old Livejournal Layout. And I think soon, a new icon. I don't know what to use livejournal for anymore. I can't actully use it as a journal, I don't have many commenting friends anymore.

"...his imagination became darker and more anguished, as we can see from his allegory of the Calumny of Apelles, one of his masterpieces. Calumny, preceded by Jealousy, drags an innocent man to the judgment throne of Midas; Suspicion and Deceit whisper in Midas's ear, while Remorse gazes downcast at naked Truth. How distant these impassioned mortals are from Botticelli's legendary gods basking in the sun."

I've evolved, and altered by profile and interests to formally map that change. I also saw it fitting to have a new layout since this old one is getting a bit dreary for me.

Was this the face that launch'd a thousand ships, And burnt the topless towers of Ilium? Sweet Helen, make me immortal with a kiss. Her lips suck forth my soul: see where it flies! Come, Helen, come, give me my soul again. Here will I dwell, for heaven is in these lips, And all is dross that is not Helena. I will be Paris, and for love of thee, Instead of Troy, shall Wittenberg be sack'd; And I will combat with weak Menelaus, And wear thy colours on my plumed crest; Yea, I will wound Achilles in the heel, And then return to Helen for a kiss. O, thou art fairer than the evening air Clad in the beauty of a thousand stars; Brighter art thou than flaming Jupiter When he appear'd to hapless Semele; More lovely than the monarch of the sky In wanton Arethusa's azur'd arms; And none but thou shalt be my paramour!

Was a seer or a poet. Though I cannot decide which. I was something that despised all warmth and joy, a habitué of woe, or its gatekeeper, perhaps. Something that made flowers wither and groan. A daughter of dust and a child of dark ash. Though the song lifted me and scattered the loathsome dust, it would remain there, and when the verse was done, it would once again embrace my body, and shield my eyes and lips.
But of the beauty the song had since adhered I could not say, for theirs is but a sin drawn from my lips and only you could speak it. Simply and smoothly banishing the dust and shaming it, and you have shamed me. A muted shame that only we would share. Would that I had not laid eyes upon your hands, and woven them into mine, so that when your fingers were at long last freed, they were black with dust.
